An unarmed male who is presumed to be Adam Malkovich from Metroid Fusion appears and speaks the line ("Any objections, Lady"), along with a younger version of Samus, seemingly during her years with the Galactic Federation.[2] It is presumed, due to Samus' youthful appearance and possible inclusion of Adam Malkovich, that the game takes place before Metroid Fusion. Ridley also appears, in combat with Samus, as well as an unidentified man donning a hunter-type suit, who asks, "Remember me?"
Samus Aran also speaks for the second time in the game series, after Metroid Fusion. However, this is her first time voiced with arresting tone and clear sentences. Her line is: "Time to go home," suggesting that Samus's personal dwellings on her home planet K-2L may appear in the game.
Reggie Fils-Aime stated that Metroid: Other M would "take you deeper into Samus' story"[3], including childhood and romance.
